A Place to Be Young

The space is organized into four functional zones designed to support everyday use. The rest zone includes a cozy lounge, a quiet reading corner, soft lighting, and a small attic for retreat. The play zone offers gaming consoles, VR experiences, karaoke booths, and interactive LEGO walls. The meeting zone provides flexible areas for youth clubs and creative workshops, equipped with tablets and digital tools. The support zone features an information desk, staff office, storage, kitchen, and restrooms to ensure smooth daily operation.

Therapy Through Architecture

The design was developed using Archi-Therapy principles, integrating emotional well-being into the spatial experience. Materials, colors and textures were carefully selected to encourage emotional well-being through a thoughtful spatial experience. Each room is defined by a unique character, soft tones and warm materials contribute to a calm and welcoming atmosphere, while textured surfaces like brick, wood, and rubber flooring invite touch and engagement. Elements such as the attic nook, LEGO wall, and layered lighting bring playfulness and sensory richness to the overall experience.

Smart & Sustainable

The project includes modern systems for comfort, efficiency, and durability. Climate control is provided by ceiling-mounted heat pumps and air exchangers. Audio-visual tools, local network access, and acoustic features support various activities. Plumbing and fire safety are discreetly integrated to maintain functionality without visual clutter.

Reimagining Youth Spaces

Yeongdeungpo Youth Space 3 is more than a renovation. It is a social ecosystem shaped by care, creativity, and coexistence. It offers young people the freedom to share moments, express themselves confidently, and imagine a better urban future starting with a single room. It is a place to rest, play, dream, and grow.
